- [S327] Obituary, Richard MyCue July 10, 1944 - August 12, 2018 A life filled with family, architecture, historical details, and friendships was the life story of Seguin native Richard (Dick) MyCue. Born into a conservative German family in 1944 and raised in Seguin, Dick was quick to appreciate his heritage and many lifelong friends and relatives in the local area. Following complications of a previous stroke, death came suddenly at home on August 12. A 1962 graduate of Seguin High School, Dick attended Texas Lutheran College, now TLU, was drafted into the army during the Vietnam era, and later attended the University of Texas, graduating from the School of Architecture. He worked as an intern in the New York City office of famed architect, Philip Johnson and later received a Master of Urban Planning from the City University of New York in 1974. Throughout his career, Dick’s specialty was restoration architecture. He had an office in Seguin in the middle 1970’s, worked and traveled for a time in the late 1970.
