JoAnn, a resident of La Vernia TX, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Friday, April 18, 2014 at Saint Luke Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. She was 69 years old.
JoAnn was born to Joe & Dorine (Elley) Vollmar, January 23, 1945 in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1962. She went on to marry Clarence Peavler on June 9th, 1963 in San Antonio and raised a family together. They later divorced after many years but remained best friends. JoAnn worked for City Public Service (CPS) for eight years, leaving to become t fulltime mother when her daughter Charolette was born. Later she returned to work as an ER clerk at SE Baptist Hospital where she remained for 15 years. She then went on to work at Connelly Memorial Hospital in Floresville where she retired from in 2009.
JoAnn was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and regally attended St. John's Lutheran Church in San Antonio. She loved fishing and was well known as a closet case meteorologist, geologist, and Archeologist, constantly collecting fossils and Shark Teeth. JoAnn was also an avid oil painter.
JoAnn was a wonderful mother whom leaves behind her daughter Charolette Davis and her husband Charles, her sons Stephen Peavler and his wife Valerie and Shawn Peavler and his wife Kim. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Cheyenne, Christal, Garrett, Blake, Kaitlyn, Ty and Madison. She also leaves behind her brother David Vollmar, his wife Vicky and her former husband and friend Clarence Peavler.
